Segal Consulting’s Thomas D. Levy Appointed to The Canada Pension Plan Peer Review Panel

TORONTO (9/18/13) —  Segal Consulting is proud to announce that Thomas Levy, Senior Vice President and Chief Actuary, has been appointed by the Office of the Chief Actuary of Canada to a panel of actuaries that will review the 26th Actuarial Report on The Canada Pension Plan (CPP).

The Actuarial Report is considered by the federal and provincial Ministers of Finance when making recommendations for the future. Mr. Levy, who is a current member of the U.S. Actuarial Standards Board and former Vice-Chair of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries’ Practice Standards Council, will join two other actuaries qualified in pension plan valuation to review the report.

Mr. Levy has more than forty years of actuarial experience. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan. Mr. Levy is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary, a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and an Associate of the (British) Institute of Actuaries.
